Coating Condition Surveys

We assist oil and gas operators assess the condition of their paint and coatings with reliable, professional surveys – both offshore and onshore.

Working from your drawings (isometric, P&ID, structural etc) we will survey and photograph all the key areas of your installation, identify any areas of concern and indicate corrosion values based on the ‘Re’ scale.

We will also calculate relevant surface areas from your drawings, and produce a workscope that identifies key priorities, assesses the current ‘risk to business’ and evaluates possible implications of the integrity of aged/damaged fire protection and the potential risk of corrosion under insulation (CUI).

Following fabric maintenance works, we provide final sign-off and acceptance, create independent inspection reports and provide an updated the ‘Re’ condition value. More information on the different types of survey is available here

Contract Management

With over 25 years experience of paints and coatings, in both inspection and production, plus proven skills in team management, we are ideally qualified to manage contracts on your behalf.

Working either onshore or offshore, we will keep your contract running smoothly with a combination of expert technical oversight, efficient project management and diplomatic relationship-building.

Third Party Inspection

We can commission third-party inspectors on your behalf and represent you throughout the contract period.

We have an extensive network of professional contacts within the oil and gas industry, allowing us to build a team of fully qualified inspectors to meet your needs precisely – including NACE Level III coating inspectors, ICorr level 2 insulation inspectors and Passive Fire Protection inspectors. This scalable team-building capability means that no assignment is too small or more importantly; too large.

Consultation Services

We provide expert, impartial consultancy in a range of areas, including:

• Complying with the Norsok M-501 Coating Procedure Test (CPT)
• Carrying out premature coating breakdown analysis
• Compilation of inspection and test plans (ITP)
• Writing of method statements, procedures and risk assessments
• Applications to the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) to become an approved coating/lining applicator
